My favourite characters (both MC and ML) are the ones who have a really strong bond, are emotionally intelligent, vulnerable and gentle with eachother. Example: dark heaven, murderer Llewellyn's candlelit dinner, love sick dog, cold-blooded beast etc...
I also like the ones who bicker a lot without crossing the line. Example: dreaming of the Dokkaebi, no moral, love in orbit etc...
As for chemistry, I'm obsessed with the "flirty bottom × gay-panicky top" dynamics. Example: given, our sunny days, sketch, the dirtiest high etc..

-Seonwoo from Punch Drunk Love. The only bottom i've seen come out glowing after an intense midnight session (▰˘◡˘▰) he's got his top wrapped around his finger.
-Ennid from Full Moon Alchemist. He's smart and has a backbone. Finally, a bottom who didn't sympathize with the antagonist and 'forgive and forget'. Loved that he found satisfaction in the antagonist getting beat tf up.

I realize my favorite MCs for BLs are the strong-willed ones who can and will put up a fight against the MLs when necessary and know how to make the ML flustered, e.g. Cha Eui-jae (The Hunter Wants to Live Quietly), Yoohan (Payback), Heechan (Half of Me), Eunsan (Melting Point), Hamin (Mad Dog), Leewon (Roses & Champagne), etc
Or the fluffy ones like the MLs in Our Sunny Days and Red String Quests.
