I don't think he exactly did anything to him more so he's hiding something inside the house, it might have something to do with how sickly the boy is if it hasn't been confirmed he was born with a weak immune system.
or maybe he got bitten ?? and he doesnt want the town to know about it since theyll terminate him maybe??
Rather than being bit, it seems like in the world just dying is what turns people into zombies. Since the kid has been so sickly, I'm mainly worried he died from an illness or is dying from an illness and his dad is trying to hide him in case they have some sort of policy that dying people have to be removed immediately #－.－)
It would make sense if his dad is hiding him in hopes that he'll just "bounce back" versus actually die if the town has a policy of preemptively removing people who might risk turning into their kind of zombie.
