Y'all think he actually cares when he's literally exhibiting anti-social behaviors, most specifically sociopathy. Lee Gun doesn't care, it looks like he is but he doesn't. He doesn't give two cents if he fails he just need to stand up again and be stronger than before. Like idk why y'all ain't picking up that he's not doing it out the goodness of his heart but it excites him and he craves violence. If he really cared about the girl he wouldn't put them in that position in the first place. He likes people to think that he has a leverage when the girl is literally his excuse to fight and rile out of people. He doesn't give a shit about no one but himself
I think you're thinking about this too hard, idk why you haven't picked up the fact that it's not sociopathy (which people like y'all need to stop using) but instead it's pure arrogance. He's young, he's hot blooded, and he believes that if he puts his all into something he's going to succeed no matter what. He wants to make a "better jianghu", which this setting of martial arts is before the one we know of with mount hua and all of that. I thought it was a bit known that he's just hard headed, but you're taking things a bit too far. People truly throw around the words anti-social and sociopathy a bit too much. If he was truly those, he wouldn't be so hot headed and instead he'd be calm and collected. I hate throwing words around bc a lot of times people don't truly research before using terms, but if anything he'd be closer to a narcissist or someone with anger disorders. But even so, he's very cocky and he thinks he can do what he wants because that's how he was raised, to be stronger than others and think he's better than others. These qualities do not make a sociopath. So try again.
agree. mc definietly cares about the girl, but i think the problem is the girl's role in the story. as it stands, she seems more like a plot device than a character. she's kinda bland, passive, and doesnt have any scenes besides with the mc. she's not driving the story forwards thru her actions, but by just existing.
You are very right about that. I do wish she had more substance to her, like maybe she dies in the future and it causes Lee Geon to go nuts or change how he handles things. I do think his father is right about him, that he is still immature... But we'll see. Sometimes things happen completely differently than we expect, I do believe Lee Geon sees potential in the FL, but at the same time he may be playing around. I honestly have no idea, I feel like the author is trying to keep a sense of mystery but not doing it completely right.
Lee Geon is very immature. I totally understand where he's coming from, but no matter how he builds a new jianghu, those in power and those who want power will end up corrupt somehow. People wanting power will do whatever to obtain it, no matter how slimey. He could take all of these extra precautions and make sure it's people he trusts, but anybody can be tainted depending on the situation.
He forgets to take into account the people he will lose during this fight, and that he's not the only one who needs to get stronger. If he truly cares for the FL then he needs to make sure she becomes even stronger too. His father is definitely ignorant as well, and there needs to be some sort of middle ground that they both haven't thought of. I do not think being peaceful is the way to go either, being too peaceful and not wanting to hurt others is also being ignorant to the ways of the world, those who are stubborn and set in their ways will not change no matter how much you convince them. You could threaten someone or beg someone and they'll still stab you in the back any chance they get, humans are ugly creatures. I just think Lee Geon's way will get a lot of innocent people killed, including the FL he supposedly loves.
Side note, he's definitely both of his parent's child. His face and stubborness is like his father's but his personality is more like his mother. His mom is fucking DROP DEAD GORGEOUS AUGH. No wonder they both left their families and lived in hiding for one another, they're crazy for each other for a reasonnnnnnnnn.
