Waittt I heard sentinel before but I didn't understand the difference between esper and sentinel
Sentinel is more popular in fanfictions, typically a human with super heightened senses; they need guide in case their senses go haywire (like, overloaded). In sentinel and guide trope, their power is not like avatar level and there're no RPG elements like in esper-guide. You would find them having ordinary professions. But the difference that stood out the most between both tropes is that in sentinel verse, usually spiritual elements (e.g. spiritual realms or spirit animals) are involved, especially in the bonding process
So do both guides and espers have esper-like abilities? bc I thought w this trope, guides just help espers regulate their levels or whatever and that’s it, but here they’re saying guides can make lakes and stuff?? genuinely confused
