Dude this was my whole thought process reading the beginning of the chapter
yeah he's actually deluding himself that Garam will go back to him so he's trying to stick with a copy. he's bordering on insanity if he isn't already there

I thought that was literally Garam at the beginning.
When that frumpy mf slid up on my screen I thought: "Why the fuck is he in Garam's bathroom?"
Then my brain tried to rationalise it as this being a backstory... then I remembered we didn't leave last chapter on a backstory... and my brain just short circuited
