Well, in the story there is no mention anywhere of an imprinting or anything like that... I would say that Haine simply had an episode of "love at first sight", but it's something that can happen to any person in real life, nothing supernatural... I've never seen Twilight but I think you can't make a comparison, first of all Haine is not a werewolf, and if I'm not mistaken this thing about wolves and imprinting is something that only exists in the Twilight universe...
