i hate the fact that miscommunication is the main plot device in almost every bl story, it's old and giving "idk how to write anything so let's use popular tropes" :/ it's like nothing is unique anymore. having miscommunication as like a small arc or small issues but having it be the basis of everything is so lame i hate it
I know intellectually that if they communicated properly there would be no story because there would be no plot. And I know that lack of communication is a common plot device - the reader hangs on every episode for the catharsis that comes when the misunderstandings are resolved.
But fuck me. It’s frustrating. Yet I carry in reading.
