So Cliff was a dragon after all? Or just made from blood of dragon, if yes then he saw him once as asleep dragon I think? So there's possibility he never left Leon just fell asleep
Well Leon did say Cliff doesn't wake up even if he is next to him so there's a chance
Anyway sometimes even if you don't plan on getting close to someone you may end up caring and being close to them so there's a chance he will come back
