Why ??? Why whay happened!??? Please spoil me

If I remember correctly, he’s going to leave the academy after killing the brother and join that evil organisation. Cutting all ties with everyone and even leaving the child (can’t remember her name) to its biological mother. This is I think still the middle of the novel and there will be tons of things gonna go on after that but my problem is with the ending. He’s given a choice of whether to leave this world (if he does, this world will be destroyed) or stay and lose everything you’ve gained( friendship, love and his powers etc) so he decided to stay. All his friends including the fake MC forgets about him and he starts living in a secluded mountain. The fl finds him and couple of his friends starts to remember him but the his child and most of the people he’s associated with doesn’t remember him and they never will cuz he’s cut ties with them. This was a really brief spoiler and you can find more detailed if you search in the internet.
