Thank you so much for elaborating, I winder what really did happen to cliff tho, is he still around or should we give up hope. I beg author to not kill him off and make Leon choose someone worse than cliff, but knowing these stories it seems likely

I think the Cliff side story ends here, but I could've read the author's post wrong lol. However, as far as we know, Cliff vanished in the main story, so we don't actually know if he's dead or if he was saved by something/someone/himself. Also, Leon is setting his plan to escape, so we may get more answers with Leon running away.
The overall story is actually good in my opinion, and there is some foreshadowing that I do like. Leon's armor being shaped like a dragon is cute, cause it's based on Cliff's dragon form (which we hadn't known before then). Nergal's obsession with Leon is based on the fact that he is attracted to Leon (and it does seem like Nergal knows about Cliff and hates him) AND Leon can help restore the "waste" world. Also the reason all the guys/gals are dicks? Since the "waste" world has limited resources, the strong beat the weak, and they must steal from other worlds. So all of them want to be top dog, and the hierarchy is based on that premise. They just hate that Leon was destroying their world (and them) and that they all had to submit to Leon, but now he's easy to push around with no power. And bonus is that Leon can seemingly give birth, although it hasn't worked so far.

So I've checked the raws and from what I can tell this is the story:
Cliff was made by a higher being alongside others, and they were tasked with protecting various worlds. However another one of the beings, decided to start messing with the living creatures and when Cliff tried to stop him, Cliff was severely injured and landed in the "waste" world. Cliff was in his dragon form, but to recover he made a 2nd body. After a while he encountered Leon, a lost child who just appeared but was from another world. Leon was going to die and Cliff decided to save Leon by giving him part of his powers. To conserve energy perhaps, Cliff would sleep for long periods of time and would teach Leon magic while awake.
Over time Leon developed feelings for Cliff, and one day he began touching Cliff and himself while Cliff was asleep. Cliff woke up and confronted Leon, and Leon confessed his feelings. Cliff points out that Leon is very innocent. Cliff rejected Leon though and went off by himself for a few days to think. In reality Cliff did feel more for Leon and knew that Leon loved him (because Leon is pretty obvious) but he was afraid that Leon would be hurt because Cliff knew he was dying and Leon would be left alone. Leon tracked Cliff down and told Cliff to forget the confession, but he started crying. Cliff is left wondering if he should just be greedy and accept Leon's feelings, or if he should not. Either way Cliff knows he's hurting Leon, especially because he never told Leon the truth about Cliff dying.
