Wdym, he's been there from the start? They mention how MC's parents had a son (brother who died) and later they adopted MC who's bio parents died or something. I don't remember how but the brother dies after getting accepted in uni and at the funeral some family friends talk about how adopting MC brought misfortune and caused this. We also find out that the brother used to tutor ML and that's how ML first "met" MC.
