people are aloud to outrage about a topic that they had previous interest in. i understand what you’re saying to a certain degree, but calling it mental illness and performative outrage is just ridiculous. it should be completely understandable that these people are frustrated with the very little obvious character development over the span of months waiting for maybe 6 chapters. we’re tired of the copy paste story of feeling like we’re getting somewhere, only for jjk to screw it up somehow by being cruel to dan. they’re only so outraged at this point because it keeps happening. you can’t honestly sit there and tell me that you’re 100% satisfied with the story, specifically with how many times it goes in the same loop over and over again. if you’re really curious about why these people continue to read it every week, it’s likely because bj alex set the bar so high for this author. it’s really not that hard to understand. defend jinx all you want, but you are NOT allowed to tell people how to feel.

sure, but we’re at ch. 69. & this book was released in 2022. currently, it is 2025. that’s about 2-3 years. on top of that, those same people keep up with EVERY update. that’s 2-3 years of hating, reading, & checking in on a book you claim to not like. that is definitely a mental illness and/or performative outrage.
no, not really. i can understand critiquing it for lack of development bc you’re actually invested in the story. what i don’t understand is reading then critiquing it when you obviously don’t like the story. again, 69 chapters later & you’re still claiming to detest the book… make it make sense.
yes, i like the story. it may not be your cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean people don’t like it. it’s hard to engage with people who actually like this book in the comment section when it’s just a bunch of haters crying about a book they don’t like for 3 years straight.
the rest of your drabble where you justify why people invest in something they detest is contradictory & hypocritical. she failed you guys a long time ago & you guys have expressed that for several years now. atp, some of you read it bc you like it but don’t want to admit that and/or you have morals you want to pretend to uphold to make yourselves feel good. idk lol.

it’s really not that deep, man. it’s as simple as understanding that we just expect character development by now. people keep checking because again, they WANT to see the character development. even IN bj alex, there was LOADS more character development by this stage in the manhua, so it should be understandable that people are still waiting to see it, considering that mingwa keeps promising it. i’m not saying that it’s right that people are being rude and downright mean about their criticism of the manhua, but what i am saying is that constructive criticism should ALWAYS be welcome in ANY kind of manhua space. it is NOT your right to tell people how to feel and to diagnose people with “mental illness” just because you don’t like what they have to say about the manhua you seem to love so much. get your head out of your ass and learn to tolerate constructive criticism, and MAYBE THEN, will people listen to what you have to say. get a life, because there’s definitely more to it than sitting on your ass and crying about what other people think.

- a mental illness is a mental illness. point blank period.
- nah… if i need to get a life then you need to get one too since you’re crying right along with me boo.
- right, sure… i already explained my point, so i’m not going to reiterate here.
- i never said anything about rights. you imposed that on me. all i said is that i defend it for a reason.

I agree with you omg. I think this story obviously has its problems (like every story does) but amount of hate is just outrageous… and it’s always the same stuff over and over again. If I hated something that much to the point I’d complain about it every update I would just drop it point blank period! And the person saying your defending a story with an abuser is fucking annoying because theres so much worse mls that people goon after…jjk is a saint compared to them. Mingwa just getting that bag fr

Though, I don't agree with mental part (not because of offense, but because it feels more like "peer pressure"), I do agree that the animosity towards this manwha make it difficult to find genuine conversation about this story.
I do understand the flaws and how it could garnish negative views, however, if you have voiced out the same complains and distain towards this manwha numerous times, then eventually it does become seen as performative. Many are quick to verbally attack Jaekyung (let's be honest, they can't touch him) and look at the surface of his actions while not fully understanding his character.
Many compare to Mingwa's other work which also tarnishes the experience as many continue to compare while avid readers of both says otherwise.
I do think there are many who love the story but are ashamed to admit since the trend is hate and cancel. Let's say this was the end and there's nothing after, the same people who hated the story will also hate that it ended (and how it ended) more than the avid readers. It is hard to find genuine readers, but we do exist and we'd love to hear your thoughts!
lmaooo see, this is why i defend jinx bc you guys do this often. she literally went on a hiatus & you guys still manage to find ways to talk sh*t about this book. it's always, "i stopped reading this book bc..." and "if this book is just going to be xyz, then...". like ok??? y'all hate jjk, we get it.
now where do we go from here bc the book is still going to get made whether y'all like it or not. it's giving mental illness & performative outrage atp. the reason why the book gains more popularity is bc you dummies keep promoting it instead of simply ignoring it.
