The "evil" brother is actually the soul of a no-good thief and the soul of the actual brother went into that body. The "evil" brother gets his reputation and entourage slashed and the "good" soul comes back
And then what?
We see the brother a bit he dates a friend of the main couple but nothing really, the boyfriend, well ex, also gets his reputation smashed
