Thank you sooo much, you're really speaking my language. Sure, things like Child marriage(Which is sadly still a problem) and being sold off were sadly common in history. But just because they happened doesn't mean they need to be thrown in ever fictional Story. It is not a historical document or historical Analysis. This Story is meant purely for entertainment purposes. Some things just don't need to be include, especially if they add nothing meaningful to the plot. Like those awful stories that throw in rape scene purely for shock value. It's disgusting and unnecessary.
Ofc I admit children often have naive feelings of admiration toward adults, which is a natural part of emotional development. It would have been fine if it was portrayed in a more harmless and touching way.
However, turning that innocent crush into a 'forced marriage' especially without addressing the power imbalance, consent issues, or the child's age soo unnecessary.

dawg i feel like yall are taking this a lil outta proportion the author isnt making some social commentary here and infact, isnt even trying to say this senario is right. Its obviously being used as a bit since this partially is a comedy. imo not the funniest thing but its obviously not to be taken seriously - as in the ML literally acknowledges how stupid this is and calls her a nuisance and FL and ML literally get tgthr in the same chapter lol.
Also if you really wanna get into power dynamics and accuracy outside of the typical iTs HiStOriCaL (cause valid) - jus imagine being a kid who idolizes a popstar or actor....but also ur dads rich enuf for u to get backstage access to them. like bro shes not jus a crazy kid, shes a crazy kid w a bumfck crazy, and powerful, enabler dad thats kind of an interesting thing to delve into. imo they coulda made her a tad older, but honestly it wouldnt work the same w an adult cause u cant brush off an adult the same way u can a kid - the whole point is that its ridiculous.

Yeah, I understand that the author isn’t trying to pitch the concept itself. My point that it’s a fundamentally weird direction to go in, especially since it doesn’t add anything to the plot.
I am so sick of this creepy micro trope in fantasy romance webcomics where a small child vehemently and obsessively attempts to get betrothed/married to the adult male lead. It’s fucking weird and unnecessary. It adds nothing. And I have never seen this trope in reverse where a bratty boy child tries to marry an adult woman. Not that it isn’t equally concerning either way. Any of the drama and plot developments brought on by this trope could be brought on by a normal crush from another adult, especially because the stories will (99% of the time) just gloss over how weird and concerning that is, presumably under the assumption that it’s an old timey world so obviously that shit must be normalized since nobody is batting an eye. It’s just not necessary and adds nothing of value to the story
