The only actual positive point for JJ is the art. If he was drawn in a 2001 westerner-tries-to-draw-manga style, you best believe nobody would give a shit about him or the whole comic and nobody would do anything but shit on him. XD

Oh HELL nah. So far the plot has not once shown that, except for him being able to be sweet to the grandma. (That's why i had hopes the author would actually gradually let us see his other side, but they bail on that each and evry opportunity the plot gives.)
