They're finally showing us their past. Sungtaek really has very deep family issues that I hope explains his situation a little bit better. Still a freak for Norman, that doesn't change. Both are freaks for each other because Norman keeps him around and really likes their intimate moments.

Spoilers

But, with Sungtaek's anxiety, abandonment issues, attachment issues, being a shut in, neglected by his mother since childhood because he had some kind of speech condition or difficulty to express himself... And being compared to his little sunshine like brother. That mother did a number on Sungtaek too even if she tried to understand him just because he loved grandma more, I think. She was kind of an absent parent and the father well I blame him too because I think he just gave up on his family (Sungtaek) not sure about what happened to him. A lot is going to happen, very confusing stuff for the readers. Probably the'll hate Sungtaek more but I feel empathy for him. But, I recognize that his behaviour is problematic and questionable (the stalking, hidden secrets, the sexual urges, self-harming). All that stuff that makes him a creep. But well, I still like him because, true to be told, he's the only one of all the tops that really has a mental issue and not just some shitty ass behaviour like the others lol

Okay, honestly, this lowk puts my mind at ease bc when I tell you this manwha was the one that was genuinely frustrating me. But it all makes sense now, I feel bad for Seungtak, he needs a hug Yeah, he's a bit of a creep but he's never had bad intentions towards Norman.

yea i'm actually a huge fan of this author. she's really good at telling stories through limited povs and then offering the other side/backstory in a way that explains why people act the way they do - like these characters are super fleshed out. actually so much better than very surface "misunderstanding" tropes and steoretypes in most bls. and she's not going "this means they're a good person!" she just means that people are often unique products of their circumstances, including the way they love, and that being in love is TRULY seeing the ugliest parts of each other and still choosing to embrace them (and then to constantly negotiatie, work on stuff together).

the jaehyun backstory was also like this (him being a jerk stemmed from being insecure) but he's def less controversial than sungtaek haha

Exactlyyyy, it literally shows that compromise leads to long lasting relationships. They still accept the flaws of their partner, so I'm hoping that maybe when Seungtak's story comes out, people will be a bit more understanding. But see it as an "excuse" for his actions but rather just the circumstances led to this
