    I'm just joking it's because usually authors tend to make the love interests of the stories hotter than the main characters, or in general (in straight stories) the gender opposite to the protagonist's (which I usually assume to be the gender the author is interested in), but here EVERYBODY is actually really conventionally hot, man or woman
