He’s the new page or more like was the new page of Nobunaga. When Ranmaru went back to the future and then back to the past again it turned out 11 years had passed. We don’t know much about what has happened to Nobunaga during those 11 years, but it looks like at some point he gave up waiting for Ranmaru and took on a new page.
