The truth was the wife knew how her brother saw her bf as she read all the love letters written by her brother but she decided to ignore it and just warn the brother, if she had told the victim about this maybe he would have made distance between them and something like this wouldn't happen.
The wife was also filled by guilt as this was also her mistake. So, she tries to listen the victim and protect him from her brother( the brother wrote a novel filled with his love letter for the victim and publish it which broke him completely but the wife protected victim)...
