it wasn’t a murder case, it was more of a who drove him to take his own life but in future chapters they don’t really bring up why he wanted to do that. i think after season two they don’t really bring him up that much, only the mc mentions his name a few times but i might have missed something

honestly they don’t really touch up on it, ml said he genuinely liked taeshin because he was innocent and honest but that was all.
i do believe that ml has known mc since high school or middle school tho which is why he is kinda freakily obsessed with him but since mc has shit memory he doesn’t remember him.
