If we ignore the freaky this is actually really interesting

This has a great potential for being a horror sci-fi and honestly if smut is not the main focus it could be very interesting

Recommend Tender is the Flesh it’s a novella that is about humans being used as cattle after a disease makes all other animals unconsumable

It’s much darker then this story obviously but if you do read it let me know how you like it because I have mixed views on it

I kinda read the summary. It definitely not something I can read because I can't handle reading about killing animals mercilessly.

    SPOLIER ALERT

Something that stuck out to me and gave me the feeling that this would happen if such a situation did unfold was the killing of Jasmine. The fact that he was fine thinking of her a human while fu¢king her but the moment she gave birth, she became cattle again.

He even gave her a name because "morality", but the moment he's got what he wants, ie., the child he couldn't have with his wife, she's back to being a domesticated animal. You can't tell me the men of nowadays aren't like this, what with boyfriends blending their girlfriends into a paste or cutting them up into bite sized piece so that their body never gets discovered. The current world is just as bad as the world in the story, though it's still small scale.

I finished reading the first chapter and I'm already baffled by the world building, the way society developed backwards in terms of human rights or how people wrongly think that they can't live without eating meat. (That's probably because I'm vegetarian) + All the killing of animals like it will not totally destroy our ecosystem and earth really irked me.

This story is most probably going to be about inner conflict and honestly i don't see anything good happening at the end of this book but let's keep reading (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I read it maybe a year or two ago so my memory was a little shorty of it. I do remember really liking the world building, but completely uninterested in the main character because it’s like the author forgot to give him a personality or something. I didn’t like the writing style either, but that may be because I read an English translation of it (I think it was originally written in Spanish).

    Spoilers ahead.

My disappointment was that everything felt expected. One thing I enjoy in reading and watching stuff is figuring out the plot, and this book felt like I already knew of everything before I read it. I wanted the main character to be way more crazy and berserk compared to the ideals of society. The writing is very sanitary, if there was any word to describe it, and I wish it swung between warm and human descriptions to cold and sanitary descriptions for cattle, rather than keeping the same hospital like tone for the entire book. At the end he kills Jasmine after she gives birth, but I lowkey in just a lover of psychologicals kinda way was hoping he’d eat Jasmine and the kid as like a final act of accepting that they are the animals, regardless of what he actually thinks. I think it can be interpreted both ways that he either put jasmine to death to end her suffering, or used her as a means to an end in a breeding way, which finally made Marcos realise the cattle’s use to society outside of the meat-filling role. I go along with the latter, personally, because I think the end showed his realisation that just like society he uses her, just not in the same way, and therefore accepts she is not human.

I really liked the plot, just kinda disappointed I guess in the execution as it wasn’t my taste (I love crazy fucks )

Also sorry for writing so much I love talking about books
