Honestly I think this is so valid and it’s just such an inconsistency in the story because it looks like the author just wanted him to be redeemed and be a “proud father” this is proven especially when he had that flashback of leewon mother as if we should sympathize w him. Literally he was a horrible person in the first part of the story who wouldn’t killed lee won if he didn’t find out his son later

he is so manipulative with his sweet old man who wants nothing but good things for his son act
you literally abandoned him and your wife without giving them any news and without worrying ab their wereabouts for like 20 years at least. and when he showed up again after searching for you day and night you pretend to be this hurt dad who misses his son despite only remembering his existence when you stumbled upon him while you were too busy keeping tabs on the man youve been trying to kill since he was a child and despite having the ressources to be one of those absent parents who lurk in the shadows and somehow make their childrens lives easier with their connections and stuff but you completely forgot ab your family and were too busy killing ppl off
and his excuse for being a dead beat is that he wanyed him to live a normal life but we all know hes just an opportunist who realised his organisation is being threatened since hes gotten old and doesnt have a biological heir so he pounced on the opportunnity after meeting lee won and rushed to introduce him to the entirety of russias elites who attended his birthday thus putting his life in danger and putting him at risk of assassination attempts
hes iterally despicable and no one is saying anything about it
