Whoooaaaa

I saw Black Butler many years ago (when there were still only 2 seasons), having never read the manga, and YouTube shorts just revealed to me that it’s been getting animated for some time and I was like “DDAANNNGGG WHAT??! I gotta hop back on.” So just this morning I caught up with the most recent anime episode in the green emerald witch arc and the most recent manga chapter, and here are a few of my thoughts so far:

1) WOW this story is so good. The development especially is very impressive. It’s on par with AOT in how each event leads to the next and the many surprises and plot twists throughout. I won’t say there both equal though lol I’ll have to wait until Black Butler finishes its manga or anime to make a fair assessment.

2) I knew the twins’ past was going to be bad but GOODNESS I didn’t think all that was going to happen. Finally seeing everything that happened to them was traumatic, and I felt so terribly bad for them and what they went through. No kid or even adult should ever have to go through that.

3) I’m just now realizing (after going back and re-reading) that Prince Soma thinks the real Ciel(our OG eye patch boy) killed his butler, when in actuality it was the fake Ciel(two-eyed boy) who killed him. However, I’m still having a hard time believing that the fake Ciel had the power to kill him since he had just been “resurrected”……UNLESS he got some type of power from the way the Undertaker “revived” him?? (Someone PLEASE correct me if I’m wrong or verify if I’m right cause I’m still a little confused if the fake Ciel was the actual killer or someone helped him (i.e. Undertaker)?

4) let me know y’all’s thoughts (I’m LOVING this story but am kicking myself for reading too fast, cause now I have to wait )
