I think- especially with the drowning episode, that he was “manipulated/controlled” by the older brother. Like in the drowning case, I feel like he was going to jump in and save her but then the older brother appeared and something happened so he wasn’t able to + he knows how sick is older brother is and is starting to call him out on it (love that from him)
Yeah but he still put her down and isn’t kind to her. I get the feeling that he felt bad about doing nothing but has done nothing to show remorse or build a relationship. Still no actual care for her, just guilt you know?

True, but that’s how it is with tragic FL’s brothers, they regret not doing anything and were “stupid and immature” when they were younger and most of the times the author will try and give the one brother some redeeming qualities and make us forgive him / the fl forgives him

Her oldest “brother” is so freaking gross. I can’t tell if the other brother ever actually cares for her or just feels guilty because he has a soul unlike his sibling. Good to see Best Boy though!
