IM SCREAMING I love when BDSM relationships are healthy, I also love when they’re actually sadists and masochists and not just into spanking and toys like most s/m BLs portray such a misunderstood concept. So much more emotional depth, and I like that Yuan is genuinely enthusiastic as well and not just going along. In most “BDSM” BL, it’s either not real BDSM (just a toy fetish usually, or occasional bdsm themes like spanking or leashes) or it’s INSANELY toxic straight up abuse-and-excuse smut. I like this because the angst was solved in a healthy manner (not through the course of 20 chapters either lol) and I didn’t wanna scream at the screen, Yuan was threatened and stood up for himself AND HIS PARTNER (THANK YOU ILY GET HIM) and then communicated what happened before moving forward with his feelings. I can’t express enough how happy I am that THEYRE NOT TOXIC and they really represent that masochism can be genuine and so can sadism, in healthy ways that don’t lean harshly in favor of one or the other. Not only that but the aftercare is giving me life. It’s not a top going, “oh you like pain? I’ll hurt you and fk you at the same time then so it’s fair” it’s two people in a genuine s/m relationship that are actively communicating and reassuring each other, and they’re clearly both into the dynamic. I love them and I love this and I’m sorry for ranting, but genuine S/M BL is hard to find and I really love this
