Ï don't think it was ever explicitly mentioned. from what I gathered based on the webtoon, and for those few translated chapters that were released of the novel, he only realized it because of his personal fantasies. So he acted upon it and I suppose the more he experienced pain the more he got addicted? I have no idea if the novel delves deeper into this or not...
Does anyone know why the Mc is so obsessed with experiencing pain? Am I missing something or was it stated in earlier chapters? Anyways I hope season 3 gets released soon
