Honestly you’re not alone, he’s a weird character. From my understanding the boss has really bad emotional intelligence and wasn’t able to recognize that he had feelings for Dajeong, which mostly stems from his inability to form close connections w ppl or even view ppl as ppl and not playthings bc of his crackheaded dads behavior. Obv he’s still abusive and none of that excuses his behavior towards dajeong but it explains his sadistic streak for going around and mistreating others. The boss grew up hating his father but was also exposed to watching his father sexually abuse others around him from a very very young age, which explains why this dumbass has no idea of what a healthy relationship looks like, and why he keeps defaulting to abuse every single one of his partners, he just doesn’t know anything else. Obv he’s a grown man that’s pushing 40, so he’s had ample time to try and fix himself and get a psychiatrist, but it seems like up until now he was fine being the way he was. I think dajeong was the straw that broke the camels back for the boss, as living w dajeong showed the boss what it was like to acc have a normal family so to speak. Like I said before, the boss has literally 0 emotional intelligence so I think he was unable to recognize the growing feelings he had for dajeong, and defaulted to mistreating him, one: because I think he fed off on the “unconditional” love dajeong has for him (bc dajeong kept staying despite the abuse), and two: maybe it was a form of self sabotaging his own happiness (which I think might also explain some of his homicidal tendencies).

Anyways sorry for the long post, hope this makes sense, a lot of it is kinda conjecture but this is kind of how i understand the boss as a character :))

Also, I think it’s very clear that the boss has narcissistic tendencies, which also explains a lot of his behavior imo

Boss crazy wants to kill people left and right, dajeong love him and they both suffered together. He couldn't kill him and now they are together.

Or we can say Boss is psychopath that tries to kill people by car and has a fantasy to kill this specific person whom he is loved by as a brother first then as a companion.
He has a very traumatizing past and becomes crazier. His dad was also crazy so some genetic link might be involved or not Involved at all.
They suffered together a lot and wanted to kill dejong but he couldn't so now they are together.
