I don’t wanna spoil it tbh, but there’s a misunderstanding and more , but taeui kinda shifts his thinking to why he has to be with him (the book and the manhwa say it’s schizophrenia, but I’d say it’s more along the lines of Stockholm syndrome tbh)

It’s stated in the book that Taeui has the choice between Ilay, Xinlu, or death. So he resorts to the safer choice, which is Ilay as a way to protect himself. Stockholm syndrome is a defense mechanism

I see, although in my opinion based on the manhwa, its not stockholm syndrome for Taeui's love isn't born from abuse or the results of extreme isolation, trauma and such. Well this might be a hassle to explain if you want to know more on my personal analysis i guess check the previous comments on my reply on sorcerer's comment

the reason I say Stockholm syndrome is because of a fear of death, and Ilay has threatened to kill him if he leaves him, and idk if you’ve read the book or not, but the ending is what made me come to this conclusion because Ilay treats him horribly at the end and if he didn’t make the choice to stay with Ilay, he probably would have killed him (Ilay obviously doesn’t want to, but tbh I think he would if taeui tried to run off) and taeui ends up accepting that. At the end of the book, I don’t really think Taeui’s really in love with Ilay- I think those feelings are just beginning to develop (due to Stockholm syndrome or not idk- that’s all up to interpretation- I could probably make up reasons as to why it’s not Stockholm syndrome as well) while Ilay has kind of always been obsessed with him

I'm a novel reader ...hmmm nah taeui already fall in love with ilay before his runway,

obviously he fear ilay will kill him but taeui has strong determination and he know what his decision and risk about choosing ilay

Taeui know and he still choose to be with ilay , but if you say ilay will kill taeui if he doesn't choose him and taeui scared so he choose to be with ilay than rather die no you're wrong ..

Mind you girl , JEONG TAEUI has a strong mind, strong determination, strong impulsive and instincts he know what he did .

he choose to be with ilay because ilay the only one who see taeui as 'taeui' himself ..if jeong taeui don't like ilay he will just vanish from ilay riegrow life because you know he lucky too
And ilay will never find him yeah he capable doing that but he not. because what?

Because he in love with that monster ilay riegrow so that he choose to be with him .

Taeui always hard on himself and always bury his deepest part of feelings and sometimes, reader also not noticing about his true feeling

You know what ,sometimes taeui character can be misconception ...so yeah

Just want to ask are you novel reader by any chance?

Because if you read passion novel and all the book after that you will know that jeong taeui will never falls into the category of someone who has Stockholm syndrome

I read the novel twice, and taeui was DEFINITELY not in love with Ilay when he ran away. He saw Ilay as a friend, and he felt like his friend had betrayed his trust by treating him like everyone else which is what led to him beating the shit out of him and running away (he would not have done that if he hadn’t been so hurt by what Ilay did to him, which tbh he had every right to do). I said earlier above that I could probably come up with reasons as to why it’s not Stockholm syndrome as well, but im not going to sit here and pretend this is an instant love story. It’s a slow burn and it took time for them to get to a healthy standing (which is more so in book 2)

See, this is what frustrates me ( just about not fall in love) people keep saying Taeui wasn’t in love when he ran away, but that’s because they’re only looking at what he says or does on the surface. Taeui is someone who buries his true feelings deep, even from himself. That doesn’t mean the feelings aren’t there.

He was already in love with Ilay he just didn’t realize it. When he ran away, yeah, he felt betrayed and hurt, but that pain came from someone he cared about deeply hurting him. If he truly hated Ilay or didn’t love him, he could’ve cut all ties emotionally, mentally, completely. But he couldn’t. He vanished physically, sure. But emotionally? He was still tied to Ilay. That’s not confusion. That’s love the kind you can’t switch off even when you try.

People keep underestimating how emotionally intelligent Taeui really is beneath all that control and deflection. If you really analyze how he thinks, how he reacts, and how much Ilay affects him it’s so obvious.( taeui in love with him)

He wasn’t just running from Ilay he was running with the hope that Ilay would understand why. That Ilay would see through it. That’s not hate. That’s someone screaming for the person they love to finally see them

So no —It’s love, buried under trauma, pride, and survival instincts. And if you still think Taeui didn’t love Ilay back then, maybe you’re just not reading him as deeply as he deserves.try reading again with eyes open dear.

Yeah it's slow burn and they relationship is just about to stable in book2 I know that, but I just want to say taeui felling which always misunderstood by some fans .

In the end, Taeui always chooses Ilay. Not because he has to but because he wants to. Despite everything. Despite the chaos. Despite the pain.
Because at the end of the day, no matter how much he tries to run from it...
Jeong Taeui is in love with Ilay Riegrow completely, undeniably, and by his own choice.

    Close the argument..have a nice day.bye
