Yess, here is part why uke thinks there here - uke ask seme when he found him that does he love him ? and he knows that seme lie all the time with smile on his face he made that face and uke stop trusting seme after that since uke doesn't know that guide they are searching for is actually brother of seme and uke thought they are lovers and in guild everyone only wanted that guide(there is no place for him here they risked theri life just to put their guide rest in peace) i hate seme tbh cuz they left uke and didn't even told him anything didn't contact him at all like 2 of 3 months uke waited in anticipation that seme might miss him and may be he would feel sad but after they return especially seme didn't even told that he missed him and he brush off everything as joke and brought another female guide along them ( she was just guide brought for a mission) and uke assumed he is no longer needed since seme can guide from others which made him useless over time but then he still stayed and when they had sex uke keep ln crying and seme couldn't understand why uke is crying he thought may be he is too happy to see him but it's not that uke mind was feeling something else back to why love part is a lie uke know seme impulsively said i love u just cuz he asked him and he doesn't trust him at all. Later uke does run away in america and seme become crazy searching for him and didn't took guiding for anyone.
Tbh best part about this novel is non romantical or bonding between friends, romance in it especially from ail side it's nothing more than obsession or a toy that is out of his reach luce love I can understand but ail is twisted till the end but this story is not that there is any second lead or anything they are literally in historical era and despiction of gay sex relationship is nothing more passing phase since I get that ail is twisted guy will forever be but his feelings towards luce is undertone as darkness which prevail more than fluffy love. Its not much spoiler but this scene actually broke me and manhwa depicted that novel scene very well here
