Well rumors said that the actor wants to move on in twd and start focusing on his other career but then i remember that he bought a house close to the set ( i remember it thanks to u cuz it's been so long) then what actually happened is that AMC did not want to pay him higher cuz u know he's not a child anymore and need a raise but amc declined and that behavior soon followed into season 9 with Maggie, that's why some characters disappear entirely
