Without saying too much, there is going to be a consistent downward trend of him doing things that he insists to himself are for his own selfish reasons (and in a way, they are.) while all that care about him are pushed to near mental breakdown, raised on the highest of pedestals, pedestals of pity. At some point someone you don't expect to cries while the rest of the party freaks out. And Cales just like, half dead in the corner thinking "will ya'll just stfu already???" Honestly one of my favorite scenes, hands down. Even one of the main goals of a more self-interested character is "Get Cale to just fucking retire." Also, so, so, soooo much blood. so much.
I get that on some level this is already true, but I can say with 100% confidence, this is nothing.

My favorite part was the him getting covered from head to toe in red dirt and looking like he just swam in a pool of blood, everyone thinking he is covered in actual blood and no one finding it strange at this point...
