i think it is very normal to have rumors shape your opinion of people you don’t know… but they’re engaged. like he wasn’t even a little curious to see if all of it was true, if maybe is thoughts and opinions were even a little wrong??
like don’t get me wrong, i don’t hate him or think poorly of him, but i do think it’s just a little insane that if maria didn’t exist he was just gonna like… never think about it??? maybe call off their engagement sure, but if that happened and she married someone else and had kids was he never going to wonder what he got wrong about her?

Bianca was trained as a child to become a duchess so it's kinda obvious she won't do anything she feels unnecessary (like going out of your way to be kind and good for other people). you remember her mom telling her not to do anything she would have to apologize for later? if you think about it, it makes seense. she's playing safe for herself. she's not evil, she's not entirely good either. but her fiancee failed to get to know her better at least. that's why we hate/find him annoying.

and kinda like you said about Bianca, he was born and raised with a pretty high title on his head. just like her, he probably doesn’t feel the need to go out of his way to learn more about someone and debunk rumors surrounding them, especially when he’s not even interested in that person, cuz to him Bianca was just a fiancée on paper and paper only
i don’t get why everyone hates the ML? it’s very common, in REAL LIFE, to hear bad rumors about someone and those rumors shape how you see them. because of those rumors you don’t want to get to know that person yourself, until a chance presents itself and you see that person is actually so different from what other people say and then you end up actually liking them.
this has happened to me personally so many times where i don’t like someone cuz of bad rumors i heard, until i get to know them and i realize they’re much different from what others say and i end up liking them and being friends with them. all of yall in the comments acting like he’s committing the greatest sin and he’s trash for only liking her now, when this is something that actually happens and is really not that big of a deal
