Riiight? I contemplated for a while and thinking further, I actually don't like the seme's personality (especially after finding a new favorite seme; can't help but compare). I find him too typical like many other semes before him. I love the uke's personality though. ♡ And this is usually the pace that I prefer: slow and warming. It's just that I'm bored with the seme, and I also I find the art lacking.
I'm not saying that it's so bad. As I had said, I just didn't enjoy it as I thought I would (2nd time reading after x years, btw).

Yeah, mabe your taste did just change over the years... maybe i won`t like it as much when i read it again in a couple of years either, but i don`t hope so haha
I really like the seme hahaha, i like how he slowly besomes more and more infatuated with the uke and can`t control himself, it`s true he isn`t the most original seme out there but he`s not that chlichee either i like them both so maybe thats why i also like their dynamic our taste is just different xD Who became your new favourite seme, if i may ask:)?

I actually like that part too, I guess I was just expecting more from him. (Funny thing is I actually rated this as 4/5 despite my seemingly ultra-negative comments.)
Anyway, my new fave is Maya from Hidoku Shinaide. His character is the prime embodiment of the perfect combination of sexy and cute. I have been searching for like semes ever since (especially blushing ones). Ahhh...
ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
..and I have been looking down on stoic and unexpressive semes after that. lol
If you're interested in reading HS, I attached the link. I have to warn you, though: The first volume is shit. If you can get past that, then you may actually love it too.

I just read Hidoku Shinaide and there's absolutely nothing interesting or different about Maya to me. He's just like many other semes in older yaois. It stars as threatening and then they actually fall in love, kind of a stockholm syndrome vibe, blah blah blah. His character is also really boring but hey to each their own. And if you're looking for more stoic semes just look at the old stuff those junjou romantice style drawings and yaoi hands, plenty of them out there

Omg really opinions can differ so much xD I feel the same way you do but for Nekota Yonezou senseis works. Although i love her art, her art is top and shes so cute (i stalk her on twitter) i really really dont enjoy the stories.Like there is no plot only fap material. But not all her stories are that bad Michiru Heya is amazing but has deep plot. But even in that story that i enjoyed gave me these feelings. On the other hand i love Ichikawa Keis stories. They give me from the start the 'its gonna be a good story' feeling xD And wow its good to see other peoples opinion whithout fighting or cursing each other xD

I enjoy fluff too!!(Abarenbo honey is my favourite fluffy one) And of course if there's good plot ,good art and nice sex scenes where needed not all the time yeah it does it for me ^.^ I recommend you Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai it kinda has heavy plot tho so i dont know if it's your taste but it covers everything in my opinion (art,plot and sex where needed) ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
So there's always this feeling of something missing whenever I read Ichikawa Kei's works. I always feel unsatisfied and I don't enjoy the story as much. Is it the art? I am not sure... I just don't like her works that much. Can't grasp what is it actually. I think I used to like Slow Starter though, so maybe I'm just growing out of her style...
