evolution of the bl fandom

this is a bit unrelated but i love to see how the bl fandom has evolved to recognize and call out red flags on the mcs. i love how we can admit that stuff isn’t looking quite right and why it’s not healthy. back in my days, things like sa and abuse were not only common to see in mangas, but the bad mcs were praised and revered by the readers (i’m looking at you, killing stalking (︶︿︶)=凸)

Lowkey dropped it but I honestly believe many people accepted his half-assed “redemption arc” because they are so used to the author pulling stunts like that (BJ Alex). At this point, if you’ve created 2 popular Manhwa’s surrounded by abusive, rapist tops… it has to be a fetish.

Oh yeah a lot of people who claim to dislike red flags will forgive him after a redemption arc lol I usually don't mind reading toxic stuff but I dropped it too because it felt like the top just hated MC and no redemption arc could make him likeable.
