    Paula went there by herself. It's not explained how exactly that happened except that Leoni thinks her abilities might not always act according to her will.

    They did actually. Maybe I remember because I...binge-read all chapters in the past week. ^^;;

    And from what I understand Leoni's ability can do a few things.
    ---She can go to other dimensions, though this ability seems mostly uncontrollable at least for now. She painted a mirror on her dress just before she died, so she went to a "mirror dimension" very similar to her own but lagging behind like 10~20 years, but had no control over which dimension exactly. She can now go back and forth between the two but nowhere else. (Yet?)
    ---She can "teleport" through her paintings by using them as gateways.
    ---She can trap souls of the dead in paintings. And somehow restless souls seem to be able to enter her paintings of their own accord as well.
    ---She can trap living people in her paintings, as they also function as a kind of pocket dimension.
    ---She "healed" that one noble in the beginning, though I don't think it was direct healing since she never did something like that again. Maybe allowing the noble to move on from his guilt simply helped him recover on his own somehow? Not sure.
    -She can make paintings that can be "worn" as disguises.

    And while she thought she could travel in time as well, that turned out to be travel between dimensions so maybe she can't actually do that.

    Oh my thanks for the detailed explanation on her powers.. I've been reading this for a while now and with every update i also lose some of the things that happened a while back..this was def a good refresher..

    so they actually explained why Paula went in the painting? What was the reason? I know leoni mom also shared similar powers to her..tho I'm thinking why specifically this painting she went in..? and why not rest in peace but trapped in a painting?..if u know what I mean..

    At first Leoni was surprised at her appearance as well. The painting was meant to trap the emperor with a whole bunch of souls that he'd wronged, but she never painted Paula in there. So Leoni thought maybe her mom was in there to watch the emperor get what he deserved, as Paula never directly took action against the emperor in the painting. Only watched.

    It's not directly said, but it's implied that Paula was actually waiting for Leoni's father there. Why she was doing that isn't explained at all, but my own thoughts on that are that Paula still wanted to be with father because in the second world the father hadn't discarded her completely yet as Leoni prevented that from happening. Maybe she could somehow sense that the father had changed? Maybe Paula had "always been with Leoni" just like how Leoni's little daughter had also "always been with her" despite not even having been conceived yet in the second world, and could sense that change and see another opportunity to be with the man she had loved when she was young? But this is just my own speculation, as this part of Leoni's power has been kept very vague so far.

    Hmm that's actually a good theory..idk I still cant accept the way the Duke hurt paula and all that suffering she went thru.. do you think she'd forgive him for that when leoni never did..? Idk..but like you said maybe she's connected to leoni and being by her side she prob saw how he changed for the better a bit..but yea that was insightful for sure and true we can only speculate. I wish they had elaborated on this more..there was potential there omg
