I was actualy scared they would go that way, Im glad they didnt, it would be a huge cop-out and too predictable (〜￣△￣)〜
I don't think it would have been predictable because it would have been a HUGE, but believable, change for Fujishima.
Cant he be just an ordinary person with strong conviction? I mean making him rich and powerful is a huge copout and, its too common, making the top powerful and rich and solving everything with hes wealth.
