wow I hate it here actually here's my alternate series of events that I'm gonna pretend happens: ml has been feeding him non snake meat right? so mc's power is super weak and can cause maybe light indigestion at this point. but no one knows that yet. BOTH the mc and ml get captured by the enemy nation maybe because the mc is tricked by his family into betraying the ml, it's not his fault but ml THINKS it is. they still wanna use mc to kill ml to prove his loyalty to they try to force his eyes open but mc goes and tries to rip them out instead (I feed on angst but not imprisonment by ml) ml finally recognizes that mc didn't betray him and idk where it goes from there

i dont like how they make the ml imprison the mc after he has been caught when he ran away bcs his blindfold was taken off by a group of ppl who wanted to g*ngrpe him and accidentally killed them. then the ml proceeds to torture him a bit + rpe but then feels bad when he finds out all his life the mc has been confined to one spot with shackles blindfolded likee im sorry their dynamic was build out was so good until this happened
