I mean it'd make make sense if they explained that failing to hatch the egg means that you're not worthy of the throne than saying you're not the legitimate heir, cuz that sounds like saying that they aren't of royal blood :/
Honestly, besides the brother, none of those characters seem very smart to me, including the female lead.
Dafuq is wrong with the people. What's wrong with two legitimate children of the queen & king be not LEGITIMATE?!?! I'd understand if there's a scandal that the queen cheated but it doesn't seem to be that way. I mean it's obvious why in the first life the baby was poisoned upon birth. There's also a loophole that our Villainess poisoned the baby just because of the rumors she's bad. Just think about it. Why bother killing when it was born, when she could just drop the egg and be done with it. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
