I feel like it’s common sense tho, like a read in between the lines kind of thing. It’s common sense if you’re paying attention. In any survival or apocalyptic setting, someone always tries to escape or rebel. Not everyone’s just going to fall in line, especially if they feel trapped or used. If people are seen as assets, there’s no way a leader would just let them walk out that’s a loss of power. And if the group is terrified of him, that says a lot. Fear might keep people in line for a while, but eventually, someone’s going to risk it. It’s just human nature.
Maybe I’ve watched too many dramatic post apocalyptic shows but yeah lol.
I think it more so implies because don’t you think someone has probably tried to leave, especially since the very first time it happened people were probably scared shitless and tried to run. Idk tho when I read the recent chapter that one of the first things that came to my mind.

i dont see how its wrong first he seems like a overgrown child who doesnt know what is right or wrong .. he is protecting the town from outside it is the safest place .. supplies are limited .. those who kill those zombies or whtever need more medicine thats how the town is thriving .. nobody had guts to tell him what is right or wrong .. they were afraid .. idont understand why MC is disgusted with ML .. ML is just protecting the town and rules are made up by people themselves .. is obvious for ML to not trust anybody who will trust somebody in an apocalypse anyway .. plus i bet MC has killed someone too .. the trauma he has
