My hunch is that you're on the right track. Could a facility have assembled different genes to produce him & he escaped with memory wiped? I'm sure it's possible in fiction. When the author will tell his whole story, I can't even guess.
I just have this theory that Guwon is not completely human or he was raised in a facility or something
that's why he doesn't completely understand the difference between right and wrong and even being human
