I read all the novel with the extras bru, he offed himself but because of the sadistic abuse and full on scary treatment he was subjected to by this ML and his pack of trash high profile wealthy cucoo on the head people.
And trust me is not a he changed, he had character development etc trope
This ml is the psychopath real deal, at the end he just continued to fool the MC and burns the last evidence which is the friend diary that clearly described the real stuff the guy was subjected to and he left a letter warning the MC to never fall prey of the Ml, fearing the ml would feel attracted to his friend and do the same atrocious thing to him.
As a reader you are presented the letter which the psychopath reads about how the friend was used, his suffering where they event hunted him in the wood and left him wandering in the while for days, drugged and raped him etc...really psycho stuff....And the ML is like 'oh thanks God I found this evidence so let me burn it" and he even laughs thinking and describing the friend as an idiot and then goes on with his act of a changed man in the next room with the MC and thats it.
I say psychopath because the author writes some chapters from the ml POV, and you can clearly understand his reason, 0 empathy, behavior and how he really doesn't give two f*cks or thinks raping or abusing someone for amusement is wrong, till the end for him if you are weak or prey is normal to be treated like an animal. Just not the MC because he feels posesive and thinks the Mc whole existence is his, so why should I let other touch him? Or abuse him? Only me. You even find out how the whole plot since the very first encounter was all planed out and how every rejection, breakup or misunderstand was just a device plan so the MC would fall for him, and after being together a while come on his knees or beg him to be together again by his own will, Cuz this psychopath thinks that to really own the Mc it need to be done willingly. All the hero ark is just the psycho ruining and destroying the other psychos fun cuz they seem interested in his prey and obviously he does it in a way where he look like he regrests it but in his pov you know he doest, he just thing that to totaaly separete himself from those people and covering up his hobbies is better for them to be ruined. The novel is well written, it's scary but intriguing when you see stuff trough the psychopath eyes and different from the what looked plainly in the ukes eyes or simple.plot. the plot twist is heavy till the end

This guy in his POV clearly mocks the dead friend even when he was alive and having survived those Diddy terror parties...asking at the time why is he upset if he is alive when some prey have died before on the site or why he says he was suffering if the drugs kept him feeling good and to be able to enjoy the rape.... he's like "why are you angry and crying? "
You said you loved me and I could do anything to you? Why are you behaving this way now? My decision was to let you be a toy for the parties coz I wanted to, justifying his action cuz the didn't feel the friend was special, just a weak annoyance he could take to be abused to these high end crazy scheduled reunions where they made connections and exchange of powers or conglomerate movie level interchange of projects, shares, political or legal assistance between high profile corrupt people. For him that was just Networking.
But now that the prey he wants to fully posses is a normal person who would find all his past actions horrifying he needs to wrap everything up. And he actually does it, quite brilliantly . Truly a psychological masterpiece this novel where a Happy ending in the Mc head is showed the ultimate plot twist and you as a reader know is just the perfect planed out outcome of the ML.

Well for what I remember he definitely knew him before the first encounter coz it was planned. And the dead friend at the begging before he was abused would always mention his friend, he was a lonely person who only felt MC was his friend even if they never saw each other.
If I'm not mistaken he had a vague idea of the MC existence right there but when things turned awry because of the suicide. Like the psycho he is he wouldnt let loose ends and was investigating if th dead friend left any evidence or if he had said anything to his dear friend. And it was that moment when he saw the MC and investigated him that he was obsessed.
Thank you this makes a lot of sense. People in this comment section putting ML and MC both on the same level of psychopathy are insane because ML is miles ahead. I briefly went to read the ending and was left shocked by how somehow positive it was? Sickening, he deserved death sentence. But I do love the story lol, so fresh and unapologetically morbid.
