I think he is in deep denial.
Cuz Everytime he "finds a clue (on his own or from the dectective agency)" or "is presented with one by the killer himself" he still goes and kisses the priest. He's letting his emotions get caught up in the investigation. He has a dark side he can't admit to anyone and he suffers a lot and beat up and manipulated the situation so his brother takes all the blame and the beatings. And it seems be hasn't ever shared this with anyone else. He finds solace in sharing this with this so-called priest and even though he really tries to push past it I'm sure he knows. Idk how sadistic the priest started out but I can empathize with abuse he faced by his father and the toll it took on his mother until his mother *off herself. Enough for him to *off his father. Anyways, as for Netflix* I guess they would have to do a lot of censoring. Lol. All those sex scenes. Lol.
