Girlbossing too close to the sun

I know the character isn’t physically touching the people she controls but that doesn’t negate the fact that she removes any agency they have over their bodies. Not to mention she makes them climax in public, which is its own can of worms. I understand a lot of people are giving this character flak because she’s a woman but it’s those same people who preach about bodily autonomy and consent that seem to ignore it when the perpetrator is female. Why is that?

see i wouldve heard you out if this was a proper story and they suddenly dropped this plot device. but i fear this is a pornhwa, it’s not meant to be taken that seriously. would you go commenting this on a male-written pornhwa? no, b/c you know it’s ass and is only written for one reason. it’s the same for this story. also you think ppl are ignoring the fact she’s doing this w/o consent but i think you’re just thinking too deeply. it was never meant to be a serious story

Saying “it’s not meant to be taken seriously” doesn’t magically erase the impact of what’s being portrayed. If a character violates someone’s autonomy, it’s valid to critique that even in porn. Especially in porn. Media shapes norms, and brushing off non consensual control and public climaxing like it’s just spicy fun shows more about your standards than anyone else’s “overthinking.”

how about you go show that energy for an actual story with some real plot. would you go commenting this on a pornhwa written by a man? where he rapes practically every woman around him? i bet you wouldn’t even show that amount of energy b/c you dgaf since it’s just a pornhwa. this is the same thing.

The irony is wild. You’re accusing me of not caring about male written pornhwa while using their existence to justify this one. So which is it? Do you want us to hold all of them accountable or pretend none of it matters because “it’s just porn”?

Also I do criticize harmful tropes in male written work and if you actually cared about balance, you’d welcome that same scrutiny here instead of acting like it’s a personal attack. Saying “others do worse” isn’t a defense, it’s just lowering the bar.

And lastly, the second a story any story depicts someone being stripped of bodily autonomy for fun, it’s valid to critique it. That doesn’t change because you’re into it or because the roles are reversed. If you’re fine with it own that. But don’t act like I’m the problem for noticing.

yikes, seems like you’re the one feeling attacked. i’m just saying you’re taking this too seriously for a comedy pornhwa. we all know it’s bad, we’re not reading it because we wanna critique it and address all the issues. it’s literally a comedy pornhwa on an illegal site. no one is saying that what she’s doing is okay. it’s just that your energy is misdirected when the purpose of this manhwa was never meant to be anything more than a pornhwa

I’m not “feeling attacked,” I just don’t think calling something a comedy pornhwa makes it immune to criticism. Saying “we all know it’s bad” while defending it kind of proves why the conversation matters.

Also funny how you blocked me before I could respond maybe it’s not the critique that’s misdirected. Have a lovely day though

Genuine question: what is it you wish you could like the dismissal or the fact that it lets you avoid the conversation?
