He is the one that said to assign the bad nanny to her, on purpose. Along with using her as a replacement for his youngest daughter to send to the Royal family. The wife noticed he did all that on purpose and realized he isn’t the kind man she loved, as he turned into a cold monster- hence that’s the reason for her wanting to divorce him. It wasn’t him potentially cheating she was divorcing him for, but because he treated his child so badly.

Yeah that’s what me and the other person were referring to lmao. I said “potentially cheat” because it wasn’t said whether his wife knew the truth of the incident or not. So she very well could’ve believed he cheated since his only excuse was that she was adopted and she coincidentally looks like him.
Im not gonna say the way he treated her was right. Its fucked up. However, they should've given her to a lower branch of the family of something. It would've been best for the father and daughter. But the fact the mom died so she escapes everything is wild to me. He went about it wrong, and i can see why he was like that. The best thing he could've done was acknowledge he is her father, but tell her he wants no part in her life, since he had no choice in her conception to begin with. Also i get the duchess wanting a divorce, she's entitled to that, but he also would OBVIOUSLY change if a child suddenly appeared thats his, that he has no knowlege about, and kinda change the family dynamic. The Female lead deserves all the happiness she got in the end though 10000000%
