The storyline is hard to follow due to translation errors. But the bot scanlation thats uploaded before so called "better version" is more accurate (even though the wording is worse). Tbh Asura scans always had bad translations for years.
The best translations were leviathan, eo sad they didn't continue this season...

for me its not that its hard to follow, but the plot itself feels like things are just happening and I don't really care why. Like a path that I'm following but I'm not sure what the destination is or if there even is one I guess is how Id describe it.
I'll look into the other translation though and maybe that'll make it better thanks :)

Ah, if it's that, then I think I know what you mean. I won't give any spoilers here, but basically we are at the introduction part of the story before shit hits the fan.
There are multiple hints about this throughout the manhwa and even in this most recent chapter (ch 154) there is a big hint about what is about to happen.
It took around 200 chapters in the novel and I suspect it will end with this 3rd season of manwha, because as a rule, the season must end with a cliffhanger.
Anyways, we are still being introduced to the main powers and forces of this world, characters, places, political stage and figures, all the subplots and mini quests/routes. Cale is still setting things up and in motion in preparation for the future (this is heavily mentioned by Cale multiple times in the manhwa already, so it's not a spoiler).
The sad part is, everything is getting more and more complicated, all of the details are super important, yet thetranslations of the manhwa are so bad, most of the little details are mistranslated or missed. And because they are important, the missing parts start to accumulate and it's difficult to understand some parts of the story. Like, why was Cale doing one thing, now he is in another place doing something unrelated? One missing detail and you don't know what is happening when it's so fast paced.
Honestly, Asura scanlations are really really bad in this regard, the bot that uploads before it is much better, so I reccomend reading the bot scanlation to understand.
Or, read the novel. If there is one novel in the world worth reading, it's this one. (And also Turning. So 2 novels. Like, I wouldn't try to convince anyone to read ORV for example, since ORV manhwa is enough, but this TotCF (Trash of the Count's Family), I think everyone must read the novel because there are so many more details there.)
the storyline doesn't feel very solid imo but the artstyle is so good i keep reading anyway
