Glen doesn't rape Ryan. He plays a rapist in a documentary. Ryan plays the victim. They're acting. The film isn't meant to be good, though. Glen is kind of making money off the victims' pain. Which is horrible.

Yeah I got that, but the way Ed speaks about it and Ryan recount it, its clear that despite their "acting", Ryan was traumatized as if it had been real.
It's also not made clear if Ryan was raped irl before the film.
Yes, you're right, that's how I understood it. It's probably a very sensitive subject for a real victim to film a rape scene. What Glen did was a terrible thing.
