He still very protective, obsessive and loves InSeob. But in the novel it's more like passive aggressive kind of way. In the novel, in the end, he sacrifices his acting career for Inseob's sake. Because he knows Inseob always want to be near his family. That's probably the biggest thing he did for Inseob. The rest of the time, it was really more on Inseob trying to catch up with his head. Inseob also is the kind that let him gets his way. So I understand why people might said the novel it's even worse
