The only way to enjoy this site is by ignoring comments that you think could ruin your mood. Especially if you really like the story, I mean many readers on this site have different thoughts, sometimes some respond very politely and kindly, and sometimes many respond very rudely. And with that many readers, it's impossible to correct them one by one, so it's better for you to enjoy reading the stories you like without having to think about other people's comments.

Thank you. My mood isn't ruined. That was just a small rant about something I noticed that happened more than once so I felt like sharing it. It's definitely a pattern and cements in my mind that certain stories attract people with poor reading comprehension skills. That's all. Most of the time people take informative comments really well so I keep replying, especially if it's a story I really like and have thought about extensively it's fun to interact with others even if I find that their takes are poor.
They are probably newgen and/or on the younger side who got into bl after/during covid so they don't really have a good "etiquette" in these kind of spaces. I often see them saying their first bl was Jinx which makes sense and that attracts and makes a certain type of fanbase. So yeah because they use as base and foundation those kind of stories with a bland or non existent plot they are only used to make dumb comments. Not that it's bad or anything, I myself read Jinx and enjoy other bls with little plot and leave dumb comments on them too but I do agree that for webtoons that are more on the complex side is way more fun for everyone reading to leave a well thought comment, especially after a plot heavy chapter that was made to let you make theories about the story. It is a little annoying reading every two comments "I don't understand what's going on when are they fucking" but I guess that's just the stories they're used to... And maybe (for everyone's sake, both theirs and ours) what they should stick to haha
I never used this site during the pandemic, but yeah I've seen so many people mention that it got many new users during that time so that makes sense. The idea that someone's first BL would be Jinx is wild to me. That's such a bad introduction to the genre imo. I enjoy a lot of fun light and smutty BLs too and leave stupid comments but those types of comments really don't fit under the more complex stories and would just make me sound dumb. You can't treat a complex character the same way you treat a one-dimensional one for example. People should def read whatever they want but sometimes it's very clear that a reader isn't mature enough to fully understand something and they just end up frustrating themselves and other readers. Every time a new chapter of a manhwa I really like drops new readers spawn out of nowhere and leave the most mind numbing comments. Each time I try to correct them I get blocked and each time I check their profiles their favourite BL is Jinx. I really hope Jinx comes back soon so they stop infesting other manhwa topic sections because this seems like an epidemic
