It is sad. But it's not the end yet so the story may got the good ending. I would suggest wait a bit more or wait till it complete to read.

i read some spoilers back then and in the end fl's gonna pass away regardless :( but before that she'll be able to bear a child and thats about it. The only thing that will remain of her is like fragments of her self in letters(?) cus she drew herself etc
