I get that people find the princess and her story/parts boring, but I hope at least they understand how important she is to the story and the future of the kingdom which has always ultimately been Shin's concern.
I kinda wish they had made the kid a boy so he could get his own BL storyline and this turned multigenerational like in Blood Link. Tbh I feel like that would’ve worked better.

plus having a female king means that the queen and king roles aren’t connected to their genders anymore which helps them to go away from the patriarchy set up by generations before. so yea, having the kid be male would have no point at all and zero significance to the plot & storyline.
